3 Day Itinerary

Starting in Melbourne transfer to beautiful Murnane Bay (3 hours) where we enjoy some morning tea before unloading the bikes and starting out on a stunning ride along the coast. Today’s ride includes some of the absolute highlights of the Great Ocean Road including Bay of Islands, Bay of Martyrs, The Grotto, London Bridge, and finally The Arch. We’ll stop for a picnic lunch along the way before riding into sleeping Port Campbell for our overnight stop.

The morning starts with more Great Ocean Road highlights with stops at Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles. There will be plenty of time to enjoy these world famous sites before we take the Old Ocean Rd, a lovely dirt road by wetlands. From here we pack up the bikes and drive up the long climb to Lavers Hill for lunch. After a short 20 minute transfer it’s back on the bikes for ride through the lush forests of the Otway Ranges. We will ride along Turtons Track one of the great (but little known) roads of Victoria through stands of giant mountain ash and temperate rainforest. The final part of the ride is a long and easy descent all the way back to the fun coastal town of Apollo Bay.
-
Ride right along the coastline on one of the famous sections of the Great Ocean Road. We leave early to avoid the day trippers riding via Wye River to Lorne where the cycling ends. On the drive back to Melbourne we’ll stop in Aireys Inlet for a celebration final lunch at a local favourite.
5 Day Itinerary

Starting in Melbourne transfer to Camperdown (2.5 hours) where we unload the bikes and start out on the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail. On this 30km trail you'll still see many original features including brick culverts and remnants of the 38 bridges. The Curdies River pile (trestle) bridge has been restored and is listed with Heritage Victoria. Wallabies, kangaroos and koalas are commonly seen along the trail and giant yellow-bellied-glider possums, white goshawks, and powerful owls live here. After lunch at Timboon Distillery and an ice cream at the famous Timboon Ice Creamery, we descend to Port Campbell, our base for two nights.
-
Heading west today ride to some of the highlights of the Great Ocean Road including The Arch, London Bridge and The Grotto. There will be plenty of time to enjoy these beautiful formations as well as riding to the Bay of Martyrs and Bay of Islands. We ride back to Port Campbell on an inland route.

We head away from the Great Ocean Road today for an exploration of the Otway Ranges. After a short drive we take an incredible walk through ancient temperate rainforest. Back on the bikes we climb through the Otways to a plantation of huge Californian Redwoods that were planted in 1936. After these highlights it gets even better as we ride along Turtons Track one of the great (but little known) roads of Victoria. The final part of the ride is a long and easy descent all the way back to the coast.

Trail Conditions
This tour encompasses a wide variety of trail surfaces. We will ride sections of good sealed bitumen road but also plenty of unsealed trails and back roads. While the smooth off-road portions shouldn't present a problem, there are some sections of looser gravel. There are a couple of hills to negotiate but the support bus will always be there if you find the terrain too difficult.
Group Size
Minimum: 2 people
Maximum: 16 people
This is a fully guided tour, however, you are free to find your own pace and enjoy the scenery as best suits you. The support vehicle and cycling guide will always be close by should you need them.
